Ideas: what to make next
byline's scheduled Ideas run considers engagement, processed posts, and any comments imported earlier, then suggests opportunities with supporting evidence. These are suggestions to inspect, not proof that an idea or its interpretation is correct.
What you get each night
A handful of cards, ordered by how strong the signal behind them is. Every card is one opportunity: a title, a couple of plain sentences on why it matters right now, and a recommended next step you can act on.
You do not need a big audience to start: processed My content can support fresh angles without any comments. The feed can still be empty when there is not enough ready evidence, no suitable new material, or a processing or access limit. Older posts whose reading finishes later can be considered on a later run.
The six kinds of idea
Each card is one of six shapes, so you can tell at a glance what kind of move it is asking for.

Inspect an idea's evidence
Cards include supporting material such as quoted comments imported earlier, content excerpts, or engagement observations. Content-based suggestions use bounded excerpts of your own work rather than reading every source in full.
Check claims against that evidence and the original source before using them. Models can still misinterpret evidence or invent details. When cited content changes or is removed, an Idea can need revalidation or lose support without erasing your previous action or feedback.
Take an idea into your tool
An Idea can give you a recommended next step and a prompt. To work with it in an AI tool, that host and plan must support a custom remote MCP connection. Add the byline link through the host's current remote MCP flow and complete authorization; reconnect if a saved grant no longer works. See the connection guide.

Ask the connected tool explicitly to retrieve an Idea and its evidence from the selected workspace before drafting. A connected host does not necessarily call byline automatically, and a suggested prompt or citation is not proof that the draft used the right evidence.
Steer what byline surfaces
The feed learns from you. React to any card:
- More like this tells byline to surface more in that vein.
- Less like this records negative feedback for future suggestions; it is not a permanent ban on every related theme.
Review suggestions and record what you actually did. Feedback on a card steers later suggestions; it does not certify that you published that Idea.
Park, finish, or revive ideas
Not every idea is for right now.
- Snooze sets a card aside for a week, then it comes back.
- Mark it done when you have made the thing.
- Ideas you do not act on are not deleted. They recede to a backlog byline keeps re-reading, and resurfaces, often stronger, when the same demand returns.
You can bring anything back from the backlog whenever you like.
Ask for fresh ideas now
You can request an Ideas run from supported dashboard or connected-tool controls. It uses currently available evidence and remains subject to access, processing, and cost limits; requesting a run does not guarantee an immediate new card.
