Your data, ownership and privacy
Your work is yours. This page covers who owns what byline reads, who can see it, and how to take it back or remove it.
Your content is yours
Everything you connect or forward to byline belongs to you. We read your posts, notes, and drafts for one purpose: to build your profile and serve it back to the tools you write in. Your originals never move. They stay on the platforms you connected, and the copy byline keeps is held under your workspace, for you. Connecting byline does not sign away any rights to your work.
Walled off from everyone else
Each workspace holds one creator or client's memory. Access depends on workspace membership, so invited teammates can share that client's context without granting access to unrelated clients. Your connected AI tool uses the workspace you select there, which can differ from the workspace open in your dashboard. Switching workspace or signing out in byline does not change which workspace that tool is using until you select it there.
Why your work goes to AI models
Your work goes to the AI models byline relies on for a single reason: to do the job you asked for, like reading a post or drafting in your voice.
Audience comments stay separate
byline no longer imports comments from Instagram or YouTube. Comments imported earlier stay in a separate place from your own writing. Audience voice is never folded into your brand voice. So when a tool drafts "in your voice", it draws on what you published, never on what a commenter said. Previously imported comments are used only to surface what your audience keeps asking for, inside your ideas.
The providers byline relies on
byline runs on a small, deliberate set of trusted services. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job:

| Cloudflare | Sends your sign-in codes and reminders, and receives anything you forward in (Email Sending and Email Routing) |
| Stripe | Handles payment when you subscribe (byline never stores your card) |
The Privacy Notice explains first-party attribution cookies, consent-controlled tag-manager analytics and server-side conversion measurement. Browser cookie choices do not necessarily stop server-side conversion events.
Export your data
While your workspace has active access, you can ask your connected AI tool for your content, a transcript, or what byline learned about your voice. Use your byline connection link:

Your originals also still live on the platforms you connected. For a full export, including after paid access ends, make a privacy request below.
Delete content or close your workspace
You are always in control of what byline keeps:
- Disconnect a channel to stop byline reading it and remove the content that source brought in.
- To close a workspace, contact the team using the privacy-request address below. Workspace closure is currently support-assisted, not a self-service dashboard action. The team will confirm the request's scope and any required retention.
Routine backups and records needed for billing or security can have different retention periods. See the Privacy Notice and ask the team about the scope of your request.
Making a privacy request
You have the right to see the personal data byline holds about you, correct it, get a copy, or have it deleted. To make any of these requests, email dylan@byline.fyi.
