Plans, pricing and billing

Everything byline does for your voice runs on one simple idea: you pay for the reading it does, not for how often your tools ask it questions. Here is how the plans work and how to manage yours. The same advertised prices are on the pricing page.

The plans at a glance

Eligible first-time payers can start either monthly plan for US$0.99 for the first month, then automatically renew at US$29/month for Creator or US$99/month for Studio unless cancelled. The paid introduction is available once per payer, not once per workspace. Your billing page shows whether you qualify before checkout.

Both introductory plans include Creator reading allowances: 3,000 items and 600 video minutes across the introductory month. Studio still includes up to five owned client workspaces and five seats per workspace. There is no free trial.

Pay monthly or yearly

Monthly billing is the default. Annual Creator costs US$261 upfront per year and annual Studio costs US$891 upfront per year, saving 25% against twelve normal monthly payments. Annual plans do not include the $0.99 introduction. You can schedule a switch between monthly and annual billing for your next renewal.

What each plan includes

The number that matters most on Studio is client workspaces: each client gets its own clean, separate brand memory, so voices never bleed into each other. That is the thing a busy ghostwriter or agency is really buying.

Both plans include all four connectors (email, Instagram, website and YouTube), your living voice profile, and nightly ideas about what to make next.

Getting started and what 'locked' means

Signup creates an account and one setup workspace, but does not grant free reading or private-context access. Choose a plan and complete payment to begin; access starts after payment is confirmed. An explicitly granted complimentary plan is a separate form of access.

When paid access ends, new reading and private-context access through connected AI tools stop until access is restored. The docs and the support form stay available, but a locked workspace's private content is not readable. Losing paid access does not itself delete your stored archive. Contact the team for a privacy export if you no longer have active access.

Your billing page shows the next renewal date and amount, pending changes, and payment-recovery steps. A failed renewal does not upgrade an introductory Studio plan to full Studio reading allowances.

What counts toward your plan

Two things count, and both are about the heavy lifting of reading your work:

• Items: each piece byline reads in a month. One post, video, email or article is one item.
• Video minutes: the length of the videos it transcribes, counted by the minute.

Questions from connected AI tools do not consume the monthly item or video-minute allowance. Access still requires a current paid or complimentary entitlement and is subject to request limits and cost-safety controls; it is not an unlimited-spend guarantee.

Monthly counts reset at the start of each UTC calendar month. During a paid introduction, a separate allowance also covers the whole introductory service period: crossing a calendar-month boundary does not grant a second introductory allowance. Your billing page shows the remaining allowance and reset dates.

Processing reserves allowance before provider work starts. A failed or interrupted attempt may retain that reservation; retrying the same material does not reserve another item. Changed material may require new reading.

When you reach a limit

If either applicable item or video-minute allowance is exhausted, new reading pauses. Existing context remains available while you have access, subject to request and cost-safety controls. Reading can resume when the limiting allowance renews and access remains active. Scheduling an upgrade does not immediately increase your allowance.

Subscribing and changing plans

Subscribe from the billing page in your dashboard. Pick Creator or Studio, choose monthly or yearly, and review the initial payment and automatic renewal before paying. Returning from checkout is not itself proof of payment; the dashboard shows pending confirmation when needed.

Plan and billing-cadence changes take effect at your next renewal, at the normal price of the selected plan and cadence. Your already-earned access remains unchanged until then, including the original plan's workspace access and Creator reading allowances during an introduction.

• Move up to Studio by scheduling the change for renewal; it does not immediately open extra workspaces or reading allowance.
• Move down to Creator only when your setup fits one owned workspace and one seat. If it does not, contact the team before switching. Workspace transfer or archival is not currently a self-service dashboard action.
• Switch monthly or yearly for the next renewal, with the amount and date shown before confirmation.
• Undo a scheduled plan change without cancelling your existing subscription. Cancelling renewal and restoring it are separate actions.

The plan is managed by whoever added the card. If a teammate set up billing for a shared workspace, they are the one who changes or cancels it from their own dashboard.

Subscribing does not change how you connect byline to your tools. That is always the same link:

In a host and plan that support a custom remote MCP connection, add this link through its current remote MCP flow and complete authorization. Select the intended workspace before using client material; reconnect if a saved grant no longer works. Host menus and automatic tool use vary. See the connection guide.

Team billing

A plan covers your whole workspace, not just the person who paid. On Studio, one person adds a card and everyone they invite into that workspace is covered, up to five seats. Ghostwriters and agencies running several clients keep each client in its own Studio workspace, so every voice stays clean and separate, and one subscription covers all of them.

Cancelling and receipts

You can cancel anytime from the billing page in your dashboard. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your workspace returns to the locked state, with your archive kept safe. There are no cancellation fees and nothing is deleted.

Use the billing portal for available invoices and payment details. Receipt emails depend on the payment provider's configured delivery settings; byline does not independently guarantee an automatic email for every payment.
