Plans, pricing and billing

Everything byline does for your voice runs on one simple idea: you pay for the reading it does, not for how often your tools ask it questions. Here is how the plans work and how to manage yours.

The plans at a glance

PlanPriceBest for
Free trial14 days, no cardTrying the whole thing, up to five clients
Creator$29 / monthA working creator running one voice
Studio$99 / monthGhostwriters and teams running up to five clients

Your trial runs at full Creator reading limits and opens up to five client workspaces, so an agency or ghostwriter can set up every client and feel the real multi-client workflow, not a stripped-back demo.

Pay monthly or yearly

Every plan is month-to-month by default. Switch to yearly and you get three months free: Creator is $261 a year (about $22 a month) and Studio is $891 a year (about $74 a month). You can start monthly and move to yearly whenever you like from the billing page. There is a monthly and yearly toggle right there when you subscribe.

The number that matters most on Studio is client workspaces: each client gets its own clean, separate brand memory, so voices never bleed into each other. That is the thing a busy ghostwriter or agency is really buying.

Both plans include all four connectors (email, Instagram, website and YouTube), your living voice profile, and your nightly insights feed.

Your free trial and what 'locked' means

When you sign up you get 14 days at full Creator reading limits, no card needed, and you can open up to five client workspaces to try the full agency workflow. Connect your channels, read the voice diff, and put your voice in your tools.

When the trial ends, if you have not subscribed, your workspace goes "locked." Locked means byline stops reading in new content. Nothing you have already built goes away: your archive, your voice profile, and your insights all stay exactly as they were, waiting for you. Subscribe and reading picks straight back up.

We email you before the trial runs out, and once just after, so the lock is never a surprise.

What counts toward your plan

Two things count, and both are about the heavy lifting of reading your work:

  • Items: each piece byline reads in a month. One post, video, email or article is one item.
  • Video minutes: the length of the videos it transcribes, counted by the minute.

What does not count: how many questions your AI tools ask byline, and how many tools you connect. Asking your memory from Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT is unlimited, because your own tools do that work, not us.

Both counts reset at the start of each month.

When you reach a limit

If you hit your monthly items or video-minutes ceiling, byline simply pauses reading new content for the rest of the month. Your profile, your insights and your existing archive keep working, and your tools can still draw on everything already in your memory. New content starts flowing again when the month rolls over, or sooner if you move up a plan.

Subscribing and changing plans

Subscribe from the billing page in your dashboard. Pick Creator or Studio, choose monthly or yearly, add a card, and your paid plan starts right away.

You change plans from that same billing page, no need to email anyone:

  • Move up to Studio and your new limits and client workspaces open straight away.
  • Move down to Creator and the change takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep Studio until then. Because Creator runs a single client, hand off or archive your other client workspaces down to the one you want to keep first, then switch.
  • Switch monthly to yearly anytime to lock in three months free.

The plan is managed by whoever added the card. If a teammate set up billing for a shared workspace, they are the one who changes or cancels it from their own dashboard.

Subscribing does not change how you connect byline to your tools. That is always the same link:

Paste your byline connection link into the tool's Connectors or integrations settings, sign in once, and you are done.

Team billing

A plan covers your whole workspace, not just the person who paid. On Studio, one person adds a card and everyone they invite into that workspace is covered, up to five seats. Ghostwriters and agencies running several clients keep each client in its own Studio workspace, so every voice stays clean and separate, and one subscription covers all of them.

Cancelling and receipts

You can cancel anytime from the billing page in your dashboard. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your workspace returns to the locked state, with your archive kept safe. There are no cancellation fees and nothing is deleted.

Every payment sends a receipt to your email automatically. Need an invoice with specific details, or a hand with anything billing-related? Email support and we will sort it.
