Every client's voice, ready in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

byline is brand memory for creators and the people who write for them. It reads published work from Instagram, YouTube, a website or an email newsletter, builds a voice profile for each creator or client, and serves it to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor over MCP.

One workspace per client

You write for several people, and each one sounds different. Without a shared memory, you paste the same voice notes into every new chat and every tool.

With byline, each client gets a workspace. byline reads that client's published work and keeps a profile of how they write. When you draft, your AI tool reads the profile from the workspace you pick, so one client's phrasing doesn't end up in another client's post.

Studio covers up to 5 client workspaces, with 5 seats in each. You can invite an editor to one client without giving them access to the others.

How it works

  1. Create a workspace for the client. Studio gives you up to 5.
  2. Connect what the client has already published. Connect their Instagram, YouTube channel or website, or forward their newsletter to the workspace inbox. byline queues the first read. Depending on volume and your plan's reading allowance, it can take a while before the profile has enough to work with.
  3. Connect byline to your AI tool once. Use Connect to Claude, Connect to ChatGPT or Connect to Cursor, and sign in. The link is the same everywhere: https://byline.fyi/api/mcp
  4. Pick the client and ask. Ask the tool to list your byline workspaces, choose the client, then ask it to read their profile or search their past posts before it drafts. For example: "Read this client's byline profile, then draft this announcement in their voice."

What you get for each client

  • A voice profile covering the client's topics, voice, recurring themes, audience, formats and posting rhythm. byline refreshes it overnight from newly processed work.
  • Corrections and pinned facts, such as "based in Lisbon" or "never uses emojis", which byline treats as authoritative inputs to the profile.
  • A searchable library of the client's processed work, searched by meaning, so your tool can pull up the post where they made a point before.
  • Ranked ideas for what to make next, from scheduled reads of the client's work, with source evidence to check before you use them.

The profile is a model-generated interpretation, not a verdict. Compare it with the client's posts, correct what misses, and review every draft before it goes to them.

What byline doesn't do yet

byline doesn't import LinkedIn posts yet. LinkedIn is on the coming-soon list. If most of your client's writing lives only on LinkedIn, byline will know less about them today.

What works now:

  • Connect the client's website or blog, YouTube channel or Instagram, if they publish there.
  • Forward the client's email newsletter to the workspace inbox.
  • Email the text of LinkedIn posts you've written for the client to that client's workspace inbox, from your own address or an allowed sender. byline reads the message body, not attachments. Each email is a one-off add, not a watched feed.

byline also doesn't post or schedule anything. It gives your AI tool the client's voice and past work. You still write, edit and publish the post yourself.

Can't I just use a Claude Project or a custom GPT?

If you write for one person in one tool, a Claude Project or custom GPT with their posts may be enough. byline helps when you write for several clients or across several tools. Each client has one profile, kept up to date from their connected channels, and every tool you connect reads the same one. You don't keep separate prompt files in sync by hand.

Which tools and plans you need

byline works in tools that support custom remote MCP connections. Each tool needs its own sign-in.

  • Claude: custom connectors are on Pro and Max. On a Team workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner sets them up.
  • ChatGPT: custom connections are on Business, Enterprise and Edu. Pro has a narrower read and fetch connection. Plus doesn't include it.
  • Cursor: Connect to Cursor opens Cursor and asks you to add byline.

Questions ghostwriters ask

Does byline read LinkedIn posts?+

Not yet. byline reads Instagram, YouTube, websites and blogs, and email sent to a workspace inbox. LinkedIn is on the coming-soon list. Until then, connect the client's website, blog, YouTube or Instagram, or forward their newsletter. You can also email the text of posts you've written for them to the client's workspace inbox from your own address. byline reads the message body, not attachments, and each email is a one-off add, not a watched feed.

How do I keep each client's voice separate?+

Give each client their own workspace. Each workspace holds one client's memory, and access depends on workspace membership, so a teammate invited to one client can't see another. In Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, ask the tool to list your byline workspaces and pick the right client before you draft.

Which AI tools does byline work with?+

Will drafts sound like my client?+

byline builds a voice profile from the client's processed work. It's a model-generated interpretation and can be incomplete or wrong. Check it against their posts, correct what misses, add pinned facts, and review every draft before it goes to the client.

Does byline post or schedule to LinkedIn?+

No. byline gives your AI tool the client's voice profile and searchable past work. You still write, edit and publish the post yourself, in whatever tool you already use.

Can't I just use a Claude Project or a custom GPT?+

If you write for one person in one tool, a Claude Project or custom GPT with their posts may be enough. byline helps when you write for several clients or across several tools. Each client has one profile, kept up to date from their connected channels, and every tool you connect reads the same one.

Who owns the client's content?+

byline doesn't take ownership of what you connect or forward, and the originals stay on the platforms they came from. The copy byline keeps is held under that workspace. You are responsible for having the rights and permission to add a client's work. Disconnecting a source stops reading it and removes what it brought in.
