Quickstart
byline reads what you've published, learns how you write, and serves that back to the AI tools you already work in. Here's the whole first run, from a cold start to the moment your drafts sound like you.
The four steps
- Connect one channel so byline has something to read.
- Let it read. byline works through your back catalogue and builds a living voice profile: your voice, your themes, your audience, and the formats that land.
- Connect byline to your AI tools. Paste your byline connection link into the tool's Connectors or integrations settings, sign in once, and you're done.
- Watch the diff. Ask Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor to draft something, and the next thing it writes is unmistakably yours.
Your byline connection link is the same everywhere:
https://byline.fyi/api/mcp
Paste it wherever a tool asks for a connector or an integration. byline opens in your browser so you can sign in with your byline account, you approve it once, and that tool can draw on your brand memory from then on. There are no keys to copy or store.
Start with one channel
One dense channel is usually enough for the first voice card, and byline sharpens as you add more. Open Sources in your dashboard and pick one:
- Instagram. Sign in to the professional account you post from, through Instagram's own login. byline reads your posts and reels, plus the comments and engagement on them.
- Website or blog. Paste your site's address. byline watches it and ingests new posts as you publish, no copy-paste.
- Email. byline hands you a private address. Forward, cc, or bcc it on any email (your newsletter, a draft, a note to yourself) and byline reads it the moment it lands.
- A single link. Drop in one YouTube video, article, or talk you want read right now.
You'll always see how much byline has read, so you know where your voice card stands.
No card to begin
Every new account gets the whole thing free for 14 days, at full Pro limits, with no credit card. Connect your channels and put your voice in your tools before you decide anything. Subscribe when it clicks: Pro is $29 a month, and you add a card only when you choose to keep going. You'll never be surprised by a bill.
The moment to watch for
This is the one to wait for: connect a channel, then ask one of your tools to write something. The first draft that comes back in your own voice, citing your own posts, is the whole point. That's byline working.
The nightly insights feed, the part that tells you what to make next, arrives a little later, once byline has gathered enough comments and engagement to have something honest to say.
