Connect byline to your AI tool
byline keeps one memory of your voice, your work, and your audience, then hands it to whatever AI tool you write in. Connect it once and your voice travels with you, into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and anything you add next.
Find your byline connection link
Everything starts with one link. It is the same link for every tool:
https://byline.fyi/api/mcp
You can also copy it from your byline dashboard: sign in, and it is shown on your connect page. Keep it handy. You will paste it into each tool once.
Paste it into your tool
The steps are the same wherever you go:
- Open your tool's settings and find the section for connectors or integrations.
- Add a new connection and paste in your byline connection link.
- Sign in to byline once when it asks. That is what links your account.
- Done. The tool can now draw on your brand memory.
You only do this once per tool. After that, byline is just there, quietly, every time you write.
Connect byline to Claude
- In Claude, open Settings and go to Connectors.
- Choose to add a custom connector.
- Paste your byline connection link and confirm.
- Sign in to byline in the window that opens.
Claude will now reach for byline whenever your voice or past work is relevant. You can also ask it to in plain words: "use byline."
Connect byline to ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings and find Connectors (available on the plans that support them).
- Add a connection and paste your byline connection link.
- Sign in to byline once to link your account.
From then on, you can ask ChatGPT to pull from byline as you draft.
Connect byline to Cursor and other tools
Cursor, and most other AI tools, work the same way. Look for a Connectors or Integrations section in settings, add a new connection, and paste your byline connection link. Sign in to byline once when prompted.
If a tool can connect to outside sources at all, this is usually all it takes. The link never changes, so you can reuse the same one everywhere.
Confirm it worked
Ask the tool something only byline would know. For example:
- "What does my voice profile say about how I write?"
- "Search my posts about one of my themes and quote one back to me."
- "What should I make next, based on my audience?"
If it answers with your actual voice, your real posts, or your latest audience insights, you are connected. If it draws a blank, check that you finished signing in to byline and that the link was pasted in full.
What you can ask once it's on
With byline connected, your tool can:
- Search everything you have published and quote it back with sources.
- Recall the working notes and drafts you have saved.
- Load your voice profile, so the next thing it writes sounds like you.
- Surface your latest audience insights: what your comments and engagement say you should make next.
You never have to re-paste style notes again. Connect one channel to byline, connect byline to your tools, and your voice shows up everywhere you write.
