Connect byline to your AI tool

Open Sources in your dashboard, or the connect step while you are getting started. Three buttons are there: Connect to Claude, Connect to ChatGPT, and Connect to Cursor. You sign in once for each tool, with your byline account.

Your byline link is the same everywhere, and the ChatGPT row shows it with a copy button:

Claude

Connect to Claude opens Claude with byline already filled in. Confirm it, then sign in once. A signed-out Claude account asks you to sign in to Claude first, then shows the same filled-in form. Custom connectors are on Pro and Max. On a Team workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner sets them up. Enterprise has separate permissions. Free does not include this.

ChatGPT

Connect to ChatGPT opens ChatGPT's plugins page. Paste your byline link into the new connection there.

  1. If ChatGPT asks you to turn on developer mode, turn that on first. Custom connections are on Business and Enterprise or Edu plans. On Business, an admin or owner creates the connection. Pro has a narrower read and fetch connection. Plus does not include this.
  2. Choose the plus button, then add your own connection. Name it byline, paste your byline link, and choose sign-in.
  3. Create the connection, then sign in once in the browser. Open that connection, choose its plus button to install it, and switch the chat to Work mode. Then mention byline when you want it to use your work.

Cursor

Connect to Cursor opens Cursor and asks you to add byline. Sign in once when Cursor asks.

After you connect

A tool shows Connected on Sources after you have signed in from that tool and the sign-in is still active. Each tool needs its own sign-in. Ask the tool to list your byline workspaces and pick the right one before you work on a client's material, then ask it to search a topic in your posts or to read your voice profile. Check what it cites before you rely on it.

If a saved sign-in stops working, use the same button again and sign in once more. A saved link on its own does not keep the sign-in alive.
