Each client's voice, read from their Instagram, YouTube, website and newsletter

byline reads each client's connected Instagram, what's said in their YouTube videos, their website and their newsletter, and builds a separate voice profile from that work. Your team then uses that profile in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor over MCP. LinkedIn import isn't available yet.

One workspace per client, one team per workspace

Your team writes for several brands, often in the same afternoon. When the brand notes live in a doc, a pinned chat and someone's head, the wrong client's tone ends up in a caption.

In byline, each client gets a workspace. Each workspace holds one client's memory, and access depends on workspace membership. You can invite a copywriter and an account manager to one client without giving them the others.

Studio covers up to 5 client workspaces, with 5 seats in each. One person adds the card, and everyone they invite into a workspace is covered, up to five seats.

Onboarding a new client

  1. Create the client's workspace.
  2. Connect Instagram. It needs a Professional account (Business or Creator). Whoever runs the account signs in through Instagram's own login. byline never sees or stores the password, and it only reads that account.
  3. Add YouTube and the website. YouTube needs only the channel handle or URL, with no sign-in. A website needs a public sitemap, which byline watches for new and updated articles.
  4. Set up the email inbox. Create the workspace inbox and add the client's address under Allowed senders. The client can then forward their newsletter, drafts or notes, and byline reads the message body. Attachments aren't read.
  5. Check the Library. Reading is queued, not instant, and a large back catalogue takes several reads. Wait until enough has been read before you trust the profile.

Working in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

Each teammate connects byline to their own AI tool once and signs in with their byline account. The link is the same for everyone: https://byline.fyi/api/mcp

Before working on a client, ask the tool to list your byline workspaces and select that client. The workspace your AI tool is using can differ from the one open in your dashboard, so check it every time you switch clients. Then ask for what you need, for example: "Read this client's byline profile and draft three captions for the spring launch."

What you get for each client

  • A voice profile covering the client's topics, voice, recurring themes, audience, formats and posting rhythm. byline refreshes it overnight from newly processed work.
  • Pinned facts such as product names, spellings and claims to avoid. Your tool can write, update, list and read them.
  • Search across the client's processed work, by meaning and by matching words. You can filter by platform, content type and date, and results come with excerpts and source links where available.
  • Ranked ideas for what to make next, from scheduled reads of the client's work and engagement counts, with evidence to check.

The profile is a model-generated interpretation. Compare it with the client's posts, correct what misses, and review drafts before they go to the client.

What byline doesn't do

  • It doesn't import LinkedIn or TikTok yet. Both are on the coming-soon list, with Google Drive and Notion.
  • It doesn't post, schedule or run approvals. byline reads; it never writes to a client's account. Keep your scheduler and approval flow.
  • It doesn't read comments, DMs or Stories, or Instagram reach, saves, shares and demographics. Instagram and YouTube bring posts and their like, comment and view counts.
  • It doesn't read other people's accounts. Connect only the client's own channels. It isn't a competitor-monitoring or social-listening tool.

Client data

Content connected to a workspace belongs to that workspace. The client's originals stay on the platforms they came from. Disconnecting a source stops reading it and permanently removes what it brought in. Closing a whole workspace is handled by the team on request through dylan@byline.fyi.

byline's privacy page lists every provider it uses and what each one sees. Some AI processing runs with providers outside the UK.

Pricing

Studio costs $0.99 for the first month for eligible first-time payers, then $99/month. It covers up to 5 client workspaces with 5 seats each. During the $0.99 month, reading uses Creator allowances (3,000 items and 600 video minutes). After the first normal renewal, Studio reads up to 20,000 items and 3,000 video minutes a month. Annual Studio is $891, charged upfront, with no introductory month.

Questions from connected AI tools don't count toward the reading allowance. There is no free trial. Cancel anytime from the billing page.

Questions agencies ask

How many clients does byline Studio cover?+

Studio covers up to 5 client workspaces, with 5 seats per workspace. Each client's memory stays in its own workspace. Creator covers 1 workspace and 1 seat.

Can my team share a client's brand memory without seeing other clients?+

Yes. Access depends on workspace membership. Invite a teammate to one client's workspace and they can use that client's context without access to unrelated clients.

Does the client have to give us their Instagram password?+

No. Instagram connects through Instagram's own login, and byline never sees or stores the password. The account must be a Professional account, either Business or Creator.

Does byline post or schedule content?+

No. byline reads a client's published work and gives your AI tool their voice profile and searchable past work. Posting, scheduling and approvals stay in the tools you already use.

Which channels can byline read for a client?+

Instagram posts, reels and carousels, a public YouTube channel, a website or blog with a public sitemap, and email sent to the workspace inbox from an allowed sender. For supported YouTube videos, byline also reads what's said in them when video processing succeeds. LinkedIn, TikTok, Google Drive and Notion are on the coming-soon list.

Which AI tools can my team use?+

Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, through MCP. In Claude, custom connectors are on Pro and Max, and on Team an Owner or Primary Owner sets them up. In ChatGPT, custom connections are on Business, Enterprise and Edu. Each person signs in once in each tool.

What happens to a client's content if we stop working with them?+

Disconnect each source and byline permanently removes what that source brought in. To close the whole workspace, email dylan@byline.fyi. Workspace closure is handled by the team, not from the dashboard.
