Is this Instagram username generator free?

Does it check if a username is taken?
No. It can't see Instagram's accounts. Search for each one in the Instagram app, or try to set it in Edit profile, before you plan around it.
What characters can an Instagram username have?
Letters, numbers, full stops and underscores, up to 30 characters (checked November 2026). A full stop can't start or end it, or appear twice in a row. Every idea here follows those rules.
Should my username match my other platforms?

Does it use AI?
